Really good outside standing cameramovements. I feel like this movie was full of different camera angles, movements and even the speed of single sequences. It was interesting to see how the camera is kind of watching the different actions from an outstanding person. There are shots where people are standing in front of the camera and the camera seems ti hide behind them, or when the camera "looks" through the window which frames the whole situation. There are conversations where two people are talking to each other, but you can just see one of them. I felt like I wanna to look around the corner or in the other side of the room but the camera didn t move there. The slow-motion in between was very well done. I don t think it was too much and it made the action more intense for the viewer...
The cinematography was beautiful and strange. I enjoyed the way that we became one of the walls and would watch events unfold in these small spaces. This was effective in creating an anxiousness and feeling of secrets and gossip. The slow motion and soundtrack was effective in putting forth how this community works, in such close quarters secrets are hard to keep, or hard not to become a part of. Everything becomes everyones business. The story line was long and delicate, and I enjoyed how it was presented as the two characters filling an empty void for each other. The viewers get to see how fragile and precious this relationship becomes to the characters and how heart-wrenching the facts are, that they are really not able ( in this culture and time) to leave their husband and wife to be with the one they now feel is who they were meant. The directors choice to leave out any sexual content was genius in the sense that sex is not what this relationship was for or about. The way we only saw small interiors and never the whole was so great in making the film solely about emotions and how these events and emotions felt, rather than what they looked like. Love it!
I think this movie might be one of my new favorites! The cinematography was really beautiful and unique. Each and every shot was thought out so carefully and really superbly constructed. I loved how the close shots and closterphobic spaces increased the intimate feeling. I almost feel like the dialog was unnecessary because there was so much said without it actually being said. There was so much tension between the two main characters, which was enhanced by the lack of physical affection shown. This is one of my favorite aspects of the film, with so many overtly sexualized films out there; there is something truly intimate in the subtlety of this film. Nothing was overdone and there was not a moment that seemed cliché or false. Loved it!
This movie was beautifully done. The slow motions and the music playing during the slow mos were done at the right time. I liked how time passed by so fast and every scene was a different time. I was also glad that they did not show their spouse's face and that it focused on the main characters. I am glad that it did not show the reality of affairs and how the story is about these two people coping with the fact that the know. Hands down, great cinematography, sound track, acting, and story done.
I really enjoyed this film for cinematic qualities, such as working in such a small space and feeling like you're cramped right in the room with all of the different characters. I also liked how the film focused extremely on two characters and their interactions together. You can tell in the beginning of the film they feel so guilty being unfaithful to their significant others, and this is shown by the scene where they're eating dinner and pretend to be each others spouse by ordering what they liked.
You could tell that the director was very thoughtful in choosing how to frame the characters. There were countless shots where the architecture framed the people in the scene very nicely. Many of the interiors were really small, but the director found different ways to work around it. For example, in one scene the two main characters are in a tiny bedroom and the director utilized mirrors to show the room. I was surprised how much slow motion was in this film, but it didn't bother me most of the time -- there were only a few instances where I felt it didn't belong. I thought it was interesting how the same song was played over and over -- i actually liked it! Normally, I would find it obnoxious, but it worked in this film.
